For children & families

Visual training for your child.
A clear role for your support.

Tasks your child can understand, a regular time to practise and a clear role for your support. We begin with an assessment and check that your child understands the task and can answer independently.

Your support starts before the session.

Support the setup

Prepare the space and computer, help with instructions and make time for the session.

Let your child respond

Independent answers matter. Do not indicate the right response or press the keys for your child.

Check understanding

If instructions are unclear, ask for teaching again. Task comprehension comes before interpreting performance.

Support without pressure.

Choose four suitable days each week and allow about 72 minutes for a complete session including rests. Encourage your child to follow the instructions and discuss any difficulty understanding or completing the task with the follow-up team. Your child provides the answers.

Is NAYIR for adults or children?
NAYIR is for adults and children. A clinician reviews suitability for each individual, and a child needs to understand the task and answer independently. Age alone does not determine suitability or outcome.
What is my role during my child’s session?
Help set up the space and equipment and support understanding of the instructions. Your child gives the answers. If the task is unclear, ask for teaching again rather than answering for them.
How much time should I plan for?
The initial plan has four flexible training days a week. Each day has one continuous session with 60 active minutes and 12 minutes of scheduled breaks: a nominal 72 minutes in total. Your prescribed plan is the reference.
Can I train on a phone?
You can browse this site on a phone, but training requires a computer, suitable display and physical keyboard, with the required device setup. Phones and tablets do not replace the training computer.
